Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11, 1982. She is an American actor, producer and director. In 1988 she made her debut in a film with Purple People Eater. For this role, she was awarded a Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years of age". Birch became a cult a child star as she appeared in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999, she was nominated for a BAFTA nomination. Birch then appeared as Enid in the cult classic Ghost World (2001), winning a nomination for Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless To Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch also played the character of Whisperer Maryand Gamma on The Walking Dead's season 10. Birch the eldest of Jack Birch's son, was born in Los Angeles. Birch is German-Jewish, Scandinavian and French-Canadian in her ancestry. [6] Her name, Thora, is derived from that of Norse god of lightning and thunder "Thor" which could be her name had she been a boy. She has a younger brothernamed Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents were former film actors who both were in the film Deep Throat. They were reluctant to help Thora due to their past experience in the entertainment business. But, the babysitter noticed Thora mimicking commercials and convinced them to show Thora’s image to agents. Birch was four years old when she received her first major break when her babysitter took her to audition for an Quaker Oats advertisement.
