Milena Govich

Milena Govich, who is a director and actor, has directed many episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) among others. Also, she was the Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently working on two pilots that are currently in progress. Milena was one of eight filmmakers chosen for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, in addition to the only Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable is her short film and TV show proof of concept, was premiered at SXSW. It also received Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017 produced by Milena Vandervoort) was screened across the nation. It won the title of Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has acted in over 100 television shows as an actor. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006), which led to her role as the very first and the only female detective on the Emmy-winning TV series Law & Order (1990). The actress has appeared on in a number of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and also for the role of Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has also been featured in numerous films, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg as the lead. Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015); #Lucky Number (2015) which starred alongside Method Man; and the films Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena is an Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating valedictorian from her high school she then went further to get an undergraduate degree in both singing and premed along with minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. After graduation, Milena utilized her classical ballet lessons to take part in a show on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
