Jennifer Coolidge Bio

Jennifer Coolidge is a versatile character actress as well as a comedienne who is experimental most famous for her role as Stifler's mother in American Pie (1999). Born August 28, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts to Gretchen (Knauff) who was a plastics manufacturer, as well as Paul Constant Coolidge on August 28, 1962. Young Coolidge dreamed of being a performer. She graduated from Emerson College and Norwell High School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in theatre. She relocated to New York and joined the Gotham City improv group. She then relocated to New York and joined the Gotham City Improv group. In the group, she was a long-standing participant in "The Groundlings" which was a comedy troupe. Her debut on television came in the form of a guest appearance on NBC's Seinfeld (1989), where she played a sexy masseuse who refuses to offer professional services to Jerry. In the following year, she had regular roles on ABC's short-lived sketch series She TV (1994), then briefly became a cast member and writer on another short-lived sketch comedy series, Fox's Saturday Night Special (1996) produced by Roseanne Barr. Coolidge's big screen debut was as nurse in Not of This Earth (1995) as well as in Trial and Error (1997). She continued her television work as well as appearing in minor parts in a number of feature films. Coolidge's breakthrough role was in American Pie (1999). She played a sultry and booze-hungry mother who seduces her son. The character was recreated by her in the sequel American Pie 2 (2001). Then she reprised her role opposite Reese Witherspoon as "Paulette" in "Legally Blonde". Coolidge has also been featured on a number of TV comedy series and made guest roles on Frasier (1993) and Sex and the City (1998). She was then named Joey's agent "Bobbie Morgenstern" in the sitcom ABC's Joey (2004). She appeared in 37 episodes in two seasons.
