Padma Parvati Lakshmi, a daughter of Padma Parvati Lakshmi, was born in Chennai, India, on September 1st, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents when she was just 2 years old. To avoid the stigma associated with divorce in India, her mother moved to the United States. Lakshmi was with her grandparents from Chennai for two years prior to making the move to the United States. Her parents divorced, and she was blessed with a younger halfbrother as well as a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi is a descendant of the Hindu goddess Wealth and Prosperity She was raised in New York City and Los Angeles. She would visit India for a short period of time each year to visit relatives. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting at the age of 29 in 1999. The first movie she acted in was "Figlio di Sandokan", a movie about an Italian pirate. Then, she played a role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers), a drama about pirates of the 17th century. In Italy, her show received the highest ratings, and she hosted the show 'Domenica In'. In 2001, her role as an actress supporting a disco artist in 'Glitter. 'Glitter is an American film. Padma has a daughter named Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell, who is married to Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was conceived on February 20, 2010. She also had a relationship with Teddy Forstmann (ex-chairman, CEO of IMG). Lakshmi and American venture capitalist Adam Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Though she originally did not reveal the identity of the baby's father a secret, Lakshmi later revealed him to be Dell. Her daughter said, "Everything is better when she's there." "Anything from morning till the night. I have no desire for anyone else than her.
