Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23, 1976) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles as the main character in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). The role she played was Julia Meade, the main character in the Mission: Impossible action-spy show Mission: Impossible (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018) was recognized. Monaghan also starred in the first season of True Detective (2014) in the first season of True Detective as Maggie Hart. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Best Supporting Actress. She also played Sarah Lane in the drama series The Path (2016-18). Monaghan appeared as Eva Geller in the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah which ended up being cancelled after just one episode. Monaghan was born in the town of 750 people (then population of roughly 750) in Winthrop, Iowa, the daughter of Sharon Hammel, and Robert Monaghan who worked in a factory. Bob and John are her two older brothers. Monaghan, who is mostly of Irish and German descent, was raised Catholic and graduated from East Buchanan High School 1994. After graduation, Monaghan relocated to Chicago to pursue a degree in journalism, before pursuing modeling. She modeled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. In 1999, she had one more semester to finish her degree in journalism. Then, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Prior to becoming an actor, she worked as model and was featured in numerous catalogs and magazines. Monaghan was recognized for two TV roles, including an actor in support roles on Young Americans' episodes in 2000. In "Consent", Monaghan played the role of Caroline Busse. She also appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims unit in that episode. On the 19th of January 2001, she was a part of the cast in "Consent". In the year, her big screen debut was in Perfume in the role of Henrietta. She was also a acting support in Unfaithful in 2002. The film starred Richard Gere, Diane Lane and many others.
