Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She started her career in the business at the age of 4 , doing voiceovers and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her next film. She appeared on Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in a park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah was able to continue working with Amy Carlson ("Josie") at least twice: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) in addition to Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was a part on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), which starred Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould's Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Sarah took classes in jazz hip hop, tap, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed in her Theatre and tap classes at "Reel to Real" in Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Sarah was home-schooled by her mother from 2nd grade and then attended Public School. In 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until she graduated in 2008. Sarah was just 18 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She landed on a plane named "My American Family" within two weeks. After she was accepted by the airline, the pilot's name changed into Modern Family (2009). To date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy" who is the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has won multiple awards most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
