Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American actor and presenter. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television between 2013 and 2020. Vergara rose in prominence during her time hosting two shows on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the late 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's debut major acting role in English. The following year, she was featured in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's Comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 that earned her an ALMA Award nomination). She began her career as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett for ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. For her role, she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. She also voiced characters in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011). Escape from Planet Earth (2013). and The Emoji Movie (2018). Vergara was also the highest-paid Hollywood actress in the year 2020 [citation needed]. Since the year 2020, Vergara has been a judge on America's Got Talent. Vergara was born into an Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. [8] Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara was a domestic worker, and her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, was a cattle rancher for the meat industry. With her five siblings as well as many of her cousins, she was named "Toti". Vergara completed three years of dentistry at National University of Colombia. But she chose to drop two semesters before graduation in order to pursue opportunities in showbusiness and modeling.
